TitlePage update: Record Reset support
April 16, 2026
Publishers

What’s new

TitlePage now supports Record Reset processing via the ONIX <MessageNote> element. This allows publishers and data providers to reset and resynchronise records using partial datasets.

How it works

When a Record Reset file is received, TitlePage will:

  • compare incoming ISBNs against existing records in the TitlePage database

  • remove any records not included in the file

  • apply updates using block updates (blocks 1 to 5 or block 6 only)

This ensures the dataset in TitlePage reflects the supplied file, even when it is not a full catalogue export.

How to use

To trigger a Record Reset, include the following in the <Header> of your ONIX file:

<MessageNote>Record Reset</MessageNote>

When to use this

Record Reset is useful when:

  • metadata is supplied from multiple sources (e.g. publisher and distributor feeds)

  • a full ONIX catalogue cannot be generated

  • a faster or controlled resynchronisation of records is required
